May 23rd = my birthday! Sorry it took me so long to post, but I have been a busy bee. I just came back from vacation... Disney World (btw... I wish I'd checked The Cupcake Cauldron's blog sooner for Disney World sweet-treat tips... I soooo would have tried the various yummies suggested)! The first pic you see is of all the baking goodies I received as gifts... can't wait to use them. The second pic is of my Juicy Couture cupcake necklace (it actually opens up)... it's a tradition for me to wear this locket on my bday. Oh, and I signed up to start taking the Wilton classes in June... exciting! Talk to you soon!

Graduation Cupcakes
My sister graduates from college tomorrow, so I made her some special cupcakes to commemorate her achievement. The cupcake itself is what my friend and I have named "Chocolate Eruption". It's basically a yellow cake with chocolate cake erupting from its' core... tastes like marble cake tough, LOL. I piped on some white stars to cover the entire top of each cupcake. I bought graduation-themed cupcake wrappers from Walmart, and they came with these cute little messages/grad caps on toothpicks. When they were all done, I thought they looked nice, but way too black & white for my sister's taste... her favorite color is hot pink, so I rolled out some hot pink fondant and cut out hot pink stars. I think that honestly made all the difference! What do you think?Friday, May 21, 2010
Cookie-Brownies
The base of the dessert is a brownie. I spread the brownie mix in a nice, neat layer in the baking dish. I dropped spoonfuls of chocolate chip cookie dough onto the brownie mix, baked it in for about an hour and... TA DA! A DELICIOUS dessert comprised of 2 of my favorite things... chocolate chip cookies and brownies. It was my best friend's idea to add some hot fudge to inidividual squares of the dessert... an excellent idea! I seriously suggest you all try these at some point.
