Oak New York Handbags
Oak has recently released their own line of bags. This black leather fringe bag rocker bag is the first of the line. I especially like the mixture of textured and non-textured black leather and the oversized lobster clasp hardware. $589
Wilton Course #1: 4th and Final Class
I decided to go out with a BANG… to be bold and try something a little more complicated than usual. I really wanted to try my hand at a character cake, but I didn’t want to try anything too difficult this time around. That’s why I settled on Hello Kitty. She has a very basic shape and I thought if there’s any cartoon character I can replicate on a cake it would definitely be her. I think it worked out really well! I’m happy with it and I hope this doesn’t sound conceited, but accomplishing this cake gave me an ego boost as far as my decorating skills go and what I am capable of. Can’t wait to try another one! What do you think?

One Hot Summer Day...
I decided to bake today. It was 91 degrees outside. WHY WOULD I DO THAT TO MYSELF?! As expected, nothing came out like I planned and melting was a HUGE issue. The cake is a french vanilla cake with a vanilla-coconut custard filling. Buttercream icing on the outside. Remember, heat was a major issue... here's what I was able to come up with:
and another one...

Wilton Course #1: 3rd Class
Last night, I attended my 3rd class of the Wilton Course #1. We learned to do some basic decorations, such as shells, simple flowers, leaves, and pom pom flowers. It was nice to learn the proper way to use the different tips and color combinations. I’m a little sad that course #1 is almost over because I met some really nice people, but life goes on… and so do I… onto course #2! I just have to hurry and sign up for July or else I will have to wait until August.

Toy Story 3 Cupcakes
In honor of Toy Story 3 hitting theaters, I decided to make Toy Story-inspired cupcakes! The cupcakes are a vanilla bean cake with white buttercream frosting. I tinted the buttercream blue and green to go along with the theme.
I found the official Toy Story aliens during my recent vacation to the Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. I covered a 14” cake board with aluminum foil to make it look more futuristic. Besides the army guys, the aliens are my favorite characters in the Toy Story series and anyone who knows the movies would agree with me that these little green cuties would probably say “Oooooooooh!” if they saw these cupcakes! LOL
P.S.--> I saw the movie this weekend and I LOVED IT!
